Dear Sir,
Having spent some time watching the effects of the heavy rain on the lakes over the last couple of days and the natural movement of the weed towards the bottom lake and out through the culvert into the burn, I remain convinced that the lakes need to be emptied and cleaned properly and thoroughly.
I look forward to the day when we can see the bottom of the lakes and anything in it, including sticklebacks etc. The work to clean up the lakes is arduous, heavy and dirty, but the sense of satisfaction is immense when we manage to clear large areas.  Thanks are due to all the volunteers who are giving their time to this work.
The delight expressed by members of the public that at last we are seeing results after such a long period, is also gratifying.
