Aycliffe Tri Club proudly present their first GO TRI Aquathlon (swim/run) to be held on Wednesday 19th June at 6pm. This is an ideal introduction to multi-sports and aimed at novice participants. The event is a 200m pool swim followed by a 2km run on grass around the grounds of Woodham Academy.
Aycliffe Tri Club are inviting local people age 15+ to ‘dip their toe into triathlon’ with GO TRI, the zero-pressure way for complete triathlon beginners to get involved with the sport. GO TRI, a programme designed by British Triathlon is a low-cost, fun and accessible way for people to get into triathlon and multisport events for the first time. Triathlon is a great sport to get active and challenge yourself, and by taking on two elements of swimming and running you can keep training fun and varied too!
At the event there’ll be coaches and volunteers on hand to offer advice and support throughout, and cheer you on as you cross the finish line! Don’t worry if you’re new to multi-sport, you’re not on your own, there’ll be other people taking part for the first time too. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy yourself. Everyone is welcome – give TRI a go! For more information check out the event at www.gotri.org or contact the club direct via email aycliffetriclub@gmail.com
