Local Funeral Director, Tracey Rimmer (nee Warrior), is about to change her top hat and frock coat for running shoes and athletic gear to raise funds for The Alice House Hospice.
Tracey, who works at John Meynell Funeral Directors in Newton Aycliffe and Darlington, both part of Dignity Funerals, is demonstrating her sporting prowess by competing in an Austrian Iron-Man competition. The event is to be held on 19th September and consists of a 2.4-mile swim in a lake followed by a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile marathon, all to be completed in under 17 hours.
Speaking at the launch of her fund raising appeal, Tracey said: “I’m very much looking forward to the event and having such a wonderful charity to raise funds for will give me the push that I need to spur me on.”
Alice House Hospice exists to ensure people affected by a life limiting illness or the death of a loved one have the care, comfort and support they need. As the only adult Hospice in Hartlepool & East Durham, their services make a difference to the lives of thousands of families each year.
