Thinking of something to do with the kids, that doesn’t cost? Why not come along to the weekly ‘Colour your Life’ art sessions at the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe? It’s indoors and always buzzing with creative activity for all ages.

The PCP have organised weekly family sessions that encourage all ages to get creative. The classes are packed with easy, fun projects and activities such as painting, sculpture, graffiti and dance, allowing youngsters to express themselves in a variety of ways.

The family sessions have moved from a Saturday morning to after school on a Tuesday, 3.30 – 5.30pm and are free for the first 8 sessions. If families continue to come after these sessions a small donation is requested to help towards materials. Children attending must be under eleven years old and accompanied by an adult.

The mixed craft sessions for adults on a Monday morning & afternoon and Tuesdays 6-8pm welcomes people who would like to learn a new craft from professional artists who are working in the marketplace today. Plus all classes take place in pleasant surroundings and give everyone the chance to learn new skills, make new friends and relax in a friendly atmosphere. No artistic experience or quality necessary!

‘Colour your Life’ is an Arts on Prescription project funded through the NHS and delivered through the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) in Newton Aycliffe. It aims to provide access to the arts to promote positive mental health and wellbeing amongst participants.
