Dear Sir, ACORN Residents Association are continually looking for ways to improve our area and thanks to local friends and neighbours our local green has been transformed into a beautiful garden. Local men have grown and bought plants to spruce up the Christopher Walk green in time for the popular ACORN fun day which is enjoyed by people from across Newton Aycliffe and beyond. This year we would like to thank Great Aycliffe for the donation of redundant flowers which are being integrated into our flower displays. Our County Councillor Eddy Adam arranged to have some soil delivered to cover up tree roots and allow us to plant flowers around the base of trees, Not only did the County Council donate soil but as a pleasant surprise they also donated flowers. Acorn members Paul Thompson Cliff Wright and Ray Gordon have been particularly involved in creating our garden area and are deserving of thanks. Ken Robson Chairman
