Guests at Rose Lodge Care Home, Cobblers Lane, were treated to a fine dining experience as the home hosted the latest in their highly popular ‘Come Dine With Me’ lunch events.
Twenty-two guests attended the sold-out event which saw a choice of two delicious three course menus. Menu one featured a pear and Parma ham salad with basil oil dressing starter, pan-fried chicken and chorizo with vegetables and a creamy chive sauce main course, and profiteroles and strawberries with a chocolate sauce for dessert.
Menu two was a date and onion chutney pitta salad starter, roast pork steak with rosemary and parsley mash and vegetables, followed by a tiramisu with vanilla cream and raspberries for dessert.
Guests enjoyed socialising over lunch and refreshments and were given party favours to take away with them as a memento of the day.
Rose Lodge, owned by care provider Countrywide Care Homes, offers residential and specialist dementia care to the elderly and was named as the 7th highest recommended care homes in the North East in a poll by carehome.co.uk last year.
Care Manager Nicola Wheatley Said: “We are absolutely delighted that the day was such a big success.  Our Head Chef David really pulled out all the stops to create two completely delicious menus and we had glowing feedback from guests which was wonderful to hear.”
