What an Egg-citing week Community Spirit had, BLS classes, raffle at the train exhibition, a double Easter disco for 500 people and, on Saturday 30th March, we were pleased to be a part of the Aycliffe Radio event ran in conjunction with Aycliffe Town Centre management, where we also drew our Big Easter Raffle.
Community Spirit would like to thank Rotary Great Aycliffe, Hitachi Rail Manufacturing Facility, Paul Howarth, Aycliffe Radio, Aycliffe Town Centre Management and Newton Aycliffe WMC for having us.
The biggest of thank you’s to Dan Wilkinson and team at Husqvarna for being absolutely amazing, and generous, both at Christmas and now, hopefully it’s the start of a beautiful friendship.
Thank you to Newton Press for supporting us in all our endeavours – sorry the award was a little late, but you all went on holiday at Christmas.
Our double disco was a huge, jam packed success, with lots of chocolate treats given as prizes and a visit from the Easter Bunny and Pepper Pig. Thank you to The Candy Queen and KD Disco for your ever loyal support, you truly are part of Community Spirit and we would be lost without you.
All winners for the Easter raffle have been contacted.
Well done also to Harry who won the Easter Egg Hunt, Beverley who guessed the correct number of sweets in the jar and Sheila who guessed the name of the rabbit, ‘Charlie’, thank you to Sisters Of Support for all your help.
To Aimee and Loren who did their mam amazingly proud, love them to bits, Aimee was an amazing Easter Bunny. To all our volunteers, John, Anne, Michael, Linzi, Katie, Alex, Smee, Suzanne, Kelly and Anne, what on earth would we do without you?
Not forgetting the reason we do what we do, and the help we receive allows us help families in need, Shine Children’s Community Choir, NAYFC U12 Wildcats Girls and all of the local community who help us to work with other wonderful charities in Aycliffe, Lifeline Community Action, St. Clares Food Bank, Glow Church UK.
Thank you all.
Community Spirit.
