Dear Newtonians,
I assume that by reading this publication, that has been going since 1948, that you feel a sense of pride in being a Newtonian?
What we took on as our ‘forever home’ in 2011, here in Newton Aycliffe, we accepted it for the beauty, quirkiness and friendliness of residents.
Roll forward 12 years and we cannot say the same . . . I’m sure we are not the only ones seeing the effects from the cost of living and how that is affecting not only our lived experience but, also how it is being felt at local authority level.
Does that give residents (commercial and residential) a reason to leave litter, broken glass, unkept roads, dangerous holes in verges and a general dirty hue on our town?
