Extra Office Hours Announced

The new Citizens Advice Bureau on Stephenson Way has immediately moved from a one day a week “drop in” to three days a week. They have helped clients with 36% more issues than last April so the new office has proved its worth and is going really well.
CAB have been bowled over by the enthusiasm of our existing volunteers and thrilled to get lots of new people. As a result we are thrilled to announce that we will be expanding the service in the town from two days a week of drop in to three.
As the supervisor for the Newton Aycliffe office said “we are raring to go”. We will now be open for drop in on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from week commencing 15th June. from 10am till 1pm.
CAB have gone the extra mile for the town, spending £25,000 on fitting out the new office and paying for a supervisor, so need people to use the service. You might notice that Citizens Advice nationally has changed its logo and will shortly be printing new leaflets explaining our service and promoting the new office.
Citizens Advice County Durham is a leads in advice and in other parts of the county local community groups have joined the network and are able to make a direct referral to us and to other agencies.
This means that many residents can get help quickly and local community centres who are often trusted by the local community can ensure residents get the help they want and don’t “fall through the cracks”.
The Pioneering Care Partnership have joined the network but CAB is keen for other community groups in the Great Aycliffe area to join.
