Pupils and staff at Vane Road Primary School enjoyed a day of literary fun on Friday 28th September when they were encouraged to attend school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character. The school building was taken over for the day by a mix of Willy Wonkas, Oompa Loompas, Matildas and many more characters from the famous author’s books. The day’s lessons were theme based on Dahl and children had great fun whilst also developing their literacy skills. Voluntary donations raised an impressive £253.87 which was donated to Roald Dahl’s Children’s Charity.
