On Saturday 3rd September two teams from CrossFit All Out participated in The Turf Games pairs competition at Apex Ability Gym in Stanley. The format of this competition meant teams had to complete 4 x 10 minute workouts, with 6 minutes rest between each workout.
Event one consisted of metres on the erg machines (bikes, rowers etc) and running. Event two involved weightlifting, and was a max lift of 1 clean, 1 hang clean and 1 shoulder to overhead. Event three involved heavy sandbag cleans and wall balls. And the final event consisted of assault bike, kettlebell swings and burpee box step overs.
Female Elite Category (same sex pairs):

With a best place finish of third in event one, and a personal best for Courtnie in event two, where she lifted 78kg for the weightlifting complex. Becky also lifted 72kg for this complex, close to her personal best.
Mixed Open Category (mixed pairs):
Gavin Plews and Imogen Storey – 11th Place
With a best place finish of eighth in event one, and two new personal bests for both Gav and Imogen in the weightlifting complex. Gav lifted 105kg and Imogen lifted 55kg.
Courtnie said, “All of us had a fantastic day competing at Turf Games. We stepped out of our comfort zones, embraced the electric atmosphere, and gave it our all on the competition floor. We were all super happy with our efforts, and to gain new PB’s in the weightlifting complex was an added bonus! A well run, friendly competition, where we laughed from start to finish! Couldn’t be prouder of Becky, Gav and Imogen, especially as it was Imogen’s first competition outside of the gym.”
