Courtney came first in the Long jump last week in the South West Durham Schools Athletics Championships whilst representing Greenfield. She will now represent South West Durham in the English Schools Athletics County Durham Finals next month.
Courtney is also one of Greenfield Adistar Sports Leaders, in addition to being a gifted and talented athlete. She has recently gained her athletics leadership qualification, to add to her tennis leaders, inclusion training and swimming leadership qualifications.
She is certainly leading by example, still finding time for her own training in athletics, badminton and dance, in addition to the time she gives to others. She has logged over 100 hours of leadership/ volunteering hours.
She gives her time to support younger children in a wide range of sports and activities, but particularly athletics through her involvement with Shildon Athletics Club and Greenfield Athletics Club. She is one of a number of inspiring leaders at the school who work with teachers and coaches on a weekly basis to enhance the schools out of school hours provision.
