Opened in 2008 and based on Aycliffe Business Park, The Work Place continues to provide excellent conferencing and meeting room facilities as well as training and development opportunities to both the public and private sectors. Darlington College will continue to use The Work Place as one of their satellite sites and will be offering courses again from September 2013 following the success of this year’s courses. In April 2013 The Work Place welcomed another new tenant, Healthwatch County Durham. This is a new body set up to help local people have a say on health and social care services, as part of the changes to health and social care that came into effect on 1 April 2013.
Healthwatch County Durham provides a way for local people to communicate, challenge and shape the decisions of commissioners and service providers to improve health and social care services in County Durham.
