Aycliffe Rugby have started their pre season training at Moore Lane Sports Club on Saturday afternoons. Training starts at 1pm prompt. The countdown for the new season has started with only 10 weeks to go before the first match is played. This will be a cup match fixture scheduled for 29th August.
This will be followed by the first league fixture of the Durham and Northumberland League division 3, away to Washington on 5th September. Anybody interested in taking up the sport or is an ex player will be made most welcome.
This is also a timely reminder for current squad members to report for training as soon as possible. The club aims to create a 2nd XV this coming season so there is room for plenty of new players. The club hope that the player members swell quickly so that a fixture list can be organised for the second team by the Durham RFU.
The first team aim to be promoted and they will try and become division champions with all guns blazing. This saturday will be the 3rd week for combined fitness and ball skills work. The numbers are building up nicely and anyone joining now will find that the coaching regime of Pete Ryans and Dale Kelly will accomodate any skill level wishing to join the club.
If nothing else come down and gain the benefit of getting fitter. We are a fantastic social and family orientated club so family members and children are always welcome to socialise and support the team. If anyone has any queries about the training programme please contact head coach Pete Ryans on 07796 172599.
