Walworth school recently opened its new kitchen for children. An aged kitchen was replaced with an ultra – modern facility. The kitchen has been designed to allow children from the age of 5 to 11 years the opportunity of working within food technology.
Walworth were successfully supported through the design and installation process by Custom Design. The kitchen allows for opportunities to extend the curriculum making this practical aspect more meaningful and realistic. Mr Peter Wallbanks, Head Teacher, said that, “this allows all our children to develop life skills from a very early age.
They engage in practical learning developing knowledge and knowhow. Walworth would like to thank Michelle Postma, Extended Schools Co-ordinator for Newton Aycliffe and Shildon, for all her support in the kitchen becoming a reality and for opening this exciting new venture”.
