Dear Sir,
I am writing a further response to the reply from Durham County Council over the footbridge closure near Brockett Close.
It is now approaching 11 weeks since we have been able to utilise this footbridge so I would not necessarily say recently closed when it’s nearly 3 months. If not repaired till approximately the end of the year it could be 19 weeks (nearly 5 months).
I appreciate work can take time, however, more communication with the residents of Newton Aycliffe would have been appreciated. We were not told of the closure or why or even how long it would be closed.
Communication goes a long way!
Have Durham County Council considered a temporary crossing for pedestrians to safeguard everybody? I don’t think they understand how dangerous this road can be, there are a number of cars speeding down this road at various points in the day and night.
The people I see, who regularly use this route, have voiced their concerns too and I am representing all of us, not just myself.
