Dear Woodham Residents,

I’ve lived in Woodham for nearly 17 years.

Every year I’ve wondered why our council tax costs more than almost everywhere else in England.

Then I saw that the Labour-run town council, with apparent support of Independents, was hiking council tax.

Worse still they spent £2000 on fancy shredders which can shred CDs!

On January 29th Labour and Independent town councillors unanimously agreed to hike council tax.

But rather than spend the money on protecting services or improving something they are putting the whole lot in the bank, into reserves.

Our Town Council now has over £1 million in reserves.

We need town councillors who will look for ways to make savings whilst protecting services.

Please support me in the Woodham by-election. I’m the only candidate who lives in the Woodham Ward and I’m just a local resident like you, who wants quality services at a decent price in our town.

People can’t afford these never-ending Labour-Independent council tax hikes.

Please lend me your vote and I guarantee I will never back another council tax rise until our town council is run properly.

Standing for Woodham and our town.

Michael Stead
