After the visit to the Shildon Civic Hall of the beautiful Princess Character, Belle, who starred in last month’s superb panto ‘Beauty and the Beast’, the cast and friends of Shildon CentreStage are now about to follow the yellow brick road.
The show will have all the familiar characters from this brilliant story as Dorothy goes on the adventure through Oz, meeting many strange characters along the way as well as singing many of the brilliant songs that makes this show, such a family favourite.
This show has many different characters who all help in Dorothy’s journey to see the Wizard of Oz, and this is where we need your help. We are in need of new members who can help make this show possible, whether you want to play Dorothy, or any of the 3 friends, or maybe you fancy playing one of the evil characters who try to stop Dorothy’s journey? Maybe you would like to sing along that winding yellow road or even dance along through the poppy fields towards the Land of Oz, we would love to hear from you. We are about to enter our 20th year so we would love for you to be a part of this journey.
We are an adult group and if you have any free time on a Thursday night, please get in touch with us. We meet on a Thursday night from 7.30pm at the Civic Hall in Shildon. So why don’t you come along and have a drink with the cast and join in the fun which we will have doing this show.
The group stem from all over Co Durham, including the Director Andrew Timmiss who comes from Aycliffe. “This show is a really good family favourite and we are looking for some new members to help us tell the story of Dorothy Gale and to have a good time in the process.”
If you want any information about our group just give us a call, phone Andrew on 01325 313363 or Derrick on 01388 774838. So come and join us sing, We’re off to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz!!
