A Christmas Fair was held at the Newton Aycliffe Youth centre on Saturday 24th November, organised by Joan Clark and supported by volunteers Kevin Crosby, Cllr Dorothy Bowman, Eve French, Noelien Jones, management committee members, Jane Johnson and Artist John Palliser of Patriot Art.
The event was enjoyed by all who attended, with Christmas carols provided by MAD Production who meet at the Youth Centre on Wednesday evenings. Newton Aycliffe Pipe Band entertained, complemented by 21 Arts & Craft stalls, although bad weather prevented some from attending. The event was opened by the Mayor Val Raw and a very special visitor “Santa Claus“ arrived and handed out gifts throughout the afternoon to the delight of all children.
This event was organised to promote the facilities, opportunities and services offered by Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre.
Special Art events in 2013 include an Open Gallery with Art competitions plus Fun and a new exciting Art Class. Whether you are a complete novice or an accomplished artist there is something for you.
