Perfect control – Cllr Linda Marshall, JP, Chairman of Durham County Council is on the ball as she launches her annual golf tournament at Beamish Park Golf Club.

Time is running out for those golfers wanting to register to take part in an annual tournament in aid of charity. Every year the Chairman of Durham County Council stages a golf day with all proceeds going to their chosen charity.
On Friday 7 September, the present Chairman of the council, Cllr Linda Marshall, JP, is staging her annual tournament at Beamish Park Golf Club – and there’s still time to enter your team. Cllr Marshall’s chosen charity is Cardiac Risk in the Young, and the cost to enter a team of four in the 18-hole ‘Stableford’ competition is £160 (cheques made payable to Durham County Council).
The best three scores count and there’s a maximum handicap of 21. Companies not wishing to take part can still support the charity by sponsoring a hole. For those wishing to take part, contact 0191 372 9196 or 07730 541 608 for details or e-mail events@ durham.gov.uk
