Independent candidate Ken Robson has been posting useful contact numbers on the reverse of his election calling cards. The postcard sized cards were printed in Newton Aycliffe by local business Newton Press. Ken says he likes to keep contracts local to benefit local people and sees the cards as not only a way to promote his election campaign but also a way to store useful telephone numbers which include Doctors Surgeries, Chemists, Police, Livin and Durham County Council.
Ken is standing in West Ward as an Independent candidate for both Great Aycliffe Parish Council and Durham County Council.
I urge residents to ask candidates where they live and if they would turn their backs on Newton Aycliffe if there were a conflict of interest between the two authorities, as happened recently when Labour County Councillors, who are also Aycliffe Town Councillors, left a debate on double taxation to the detriment of Newton Aycliffe Residents.
Regardless of politics, please go out and vote for whoever appeals, it is your right and your moral duty.
