Greenfield Yr 8/9 Basketball players gained Bronze medals at the County Finals on the 22nd March. Well done to Max Spittlehouse, Charlie Maxfield, Keiran Kemp (Captain), James Hindhaugh, Sam Dawson, Thomas Burn, Carl Nattrass & Ross Parkin (Pictured above).
After losing to the eventual winners Parkview (Chester le Street) by 1 basket, to miss out on a place in the County Final. Greenfield were delighted to come away with a bronze medal, after beating St Bedes 6 – 5, Consett 7 – 0 and Parkside 6 – 0. Overall result – 1st Parkview, 2nd Framwellgate, 3rd Greenfield. Well done lads.
Well done to also Greenfield Yr 7 who beat Consett 6 – 4 to finish 5th in the County. Overall result 1st Durham Johnston, 2nd Parkside, 3rd Hermitage.
Greenfield school would like to take this opportunity to thank the Durham Wild Cats for the Basketball academy they run at the School. This enabled their students to finish top in Sedgefield and therefore take part in the County finals, the Wild Cats also ran the finals at Maiden Castle in partnership with Durham County Sport which was a fantastic day.
