This Bank Holiday Monday, 31st May at 11:00-12:00, we will be holding a second Bee Bombing Event.
As you might remember we held the first one at the beginning of the month in Woodham Park. It was well attended, despite the weather, and the children and their parents seemed to have a good time learning about the need for ‘food’ for our pollinators whilst throwing their ‘bombs’.
The Bee Bombs are made from a mixture of clay, compost and, of course, native wild flower seeds. This combination helps the seeds to germinate so hopefully we will then see a beautiful display of flowers that will feed our bees, birds and insects. They in turn will pollinate our own food plants.
Like everything on the planet, production of food is reliant on all creatures working together. Please come along and have a little fun whilst doing your bit to help ‘feed the world’.
The event will take place at the edge of the Burn, close to Humphrey Close, DL5 4EU. If you have the What3Words App, the address is ‘stage.eggs.expand’. Please find photo of the area below.
The event has been made possible by the work of Stephanie Heselton who has grown and sold plants in an effort to fund this and other local projects.
As always, the event will follow government guidelines for social distancing and is FREE.
