Under 9 Wildcats v Herrington
Final game of the main season. Herrington dominated large parts of the first half, but the girls scored twice from two opportunities courtesy of Sophie and Elsie. Herrington got one back before HT. A more open game in the 2nd half, which suited us. Brooke added two more goals to finish the season in style. Penny and Brooke POTM’s. Great season girls, really proud of all your progress!
Under 14 Eagles 3 v Seaton Carew Tigers 2
A much deserved and needed win for The Eagles. They dominated for the whole game. We went a goal up thanks to Kaiden with a goal any premier league player would have been proud of, however, we found ourselves 1-2 down. Determination was key today with the boys not giving up and Olly sealed it with a brace for the win. MOTM was joint, with Kaiden and Liam both giving outstanding performances.
Under 14 Girls 9 v Birtley 0
Decent game of football, not the best I’ve seen them play but crucial in front of goal. The Aycliffe girls settled into the game and played some good football, remembering not to rush and have a bit of composure was key. Goals: Demi Lee x3 Safiye x2 Lana, Amy, Chloe F & Tilly.
Under 14 Girls (Sunday) 4 v Washington AFC 1
Final game of the league saw us come out on top to seal our place in the top 3. We had just 11 players who worked hard and showed loads of skill. A fantastic team spirit shown by a team who wanted the win. Two goals a piece from both Saf and Romilly.
Players star: Erin. Coaches star: Amy.
Under 13 Boys 0 v Grangetown Boys 3
A couple of near misses, the crossbar and four worldie saves were the difference in this game. Luck wasn’t on our side, and not from a lack of effort. We’ll keep up the hard work and go again next week. Posi and Archie MOTM’s.
Under 13 Angels 5 v Washington Juniors Lionesses Girls 2
There’s something special about a comeback win. The first 20 minutes were tough, Washington went 2-0 up, but the girls responded brilliantly to pull it back to 2-2 by half-time. Once we scored our third there was only one winner. Two goals from Romilly and Evie and one for Faith. Star Players: Evie and Romilly.
Under 13 Girls 1 v Hartlepool Youth Whites 4
An even contest against a team we were resoundingly beaten by three months ago. Goal by Courtney assisted by Gwynneth. POTM A’alayah.
Under 12 Eagles 2 v Coulby Newham 0
An outstanding all-around team performance. The passing was brilliant, with players getting their heads up and looking for their teammates. The defence today was strong, with both Charlie and Oliver playing very well in goal. Carter, Dylan, Lucas and Riley were awesome in defence however, all players played a huge part in today’s victory. Two goals from Brandon. MOTM Evan.
Under 11 Eagles v Stokesley
The Eagles first game since November and what a game it was. A very tense end to end match that came to an unfortunate end for the Eagles. The boys battled til the final whistle making every second count, lots of chances that didn’t finish but we learn and move onto the next one.
Under 8 Eagles v Linthorpe Academicals
First game of the new season and you could tell the boys were keen to carry the confidence from pre-season into this game. In the first half the Eagles were too much for the opposition leading comfortably at the break. Linthorpe came into the game more in the second half but the boys saw the game out, well finishing. All round excellence and hard work from the whole team.
