U7 Eagles were hosts to Marton and U8 Eagles travelled to Trimdon as both continue to improve in their first season of football, neither could get a result despite their best efforts and 4 goals from Thomas F and one from Thomas B in the U8’s game.
U9 Eagles v Riverside Juniors
The boys got off to a great start with George D turning the defenders inside out and the keeper made a great save, but Will volleyed in the rebound. Floyd dominated the midfield battles and the whole squad were brilliant in their tackling and passing and were rewarded with some great team goals. Scorers George D 2, Will 2, Phoenix, Harry M and Harry L.
U10 Eagles 0 v Thornley 3
A complete turnaround from last week. Everything from the defending and blocking, the passing and support and not to mention some fantastic saves from Ethan in goal, the boys played really well, Slightly unlucky with the result, but a great performance.
U11 Eagles v Newton Aycliffe Juniors
The Eagles where away to the “Juniors” in this derby cup game, absolutely fantastic performance from the boys showing their work on the pitch. The score was level at FT with Sam and Tarek on the score sheet. However, Juniors took the penalty shootout.
Under 10 Girls v Boldon CA
Despite dominating the game and hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions. Phoebe scored a great goal but somehow this game ended even.
U11 Wildcats v Durham Leopards
On the attack from the start the girls created numerous chances. However, the deadlock was eventually broken and quickly went 2-0 up through Phoebe. Lucy had two great chances before Imogen scored our third, Brooke scored our 4th and then Durham pulled a goal back, however, before the end Mia and Lucy combined for Mia to finish well.
U12 Eagles 0 v Sedgefield 6
Playing in the cup against a higher division side was always going to be tough, but the boys did everyone proud with a fantastic performance. MOM Jack T.
U13 Boys 1 v Riverside Juniors 2
Riverside took the lead mid-way through the first half, but a cracking half-volley from Sam from some 35 yards brought us level before HT. Second half was tight, but Riverside capitalised on a goal-mouth scramble to grab the goals and the points. MOM Jacob S and James.
South Moor 2 v U13 Girls 0
Scrappy game on a scrappy pitch. We conceded first half to a good finish. We struggled to get our passing going. One more goal in the second half from the opposition. POTM A’alayah.
Jarrow 0 v U14 Girls 8
Good performance from the girls as they were asked to focus on shielding the ball and releasing it early. First half the space wasn’t being used as much as it could have been, but Second half was much better and we created more in attack, but also looked calmer when defending too. A solid performance, with plenty positives and stuff to work on too.
South Shields 3 v U14 Eagles 2
The result doesn’t do the boys justice, as they played some fantastic football and created lots of chances in front of goal. Goals from Olly and a free kick from Liam. Joint MOM Ollie and Ellis Fleming.
U14 Girls (Sunday) 5 v Washington 0
A quality performance from all 11 available players. Individual skills were working hand in hand with fantastic team play to come away with the win. Goals from Demilee (x2), Lana, Charli and Evie P. Players star Bailey; Coaches star Lana.
U16 Girls 1 v Redcar Town Lionesses 1
Aycliffe dominated the first half with some superb passing play with plenty of action in the Redcar box. One shot after another flew past the goal until Mia was passed the ball from an intercepted free kick and hammered it home. Five minutes into the second half and the ball bounced over the defence allowing the opposition to level 1-1. It stayed that way and ended up a frustrating draw.
