Aycliffe U12 Yellows 6 v Spennymoor Town Girls 0
After a tentative start the deadlock was broken as Amy opened the scoring and this allowed the girls to relax and play their football. Another two goals before half time put the girls in control. Payton hits the post but the rebound was put away by Liv for her first goal for the Yellows and Amy winning a 1v1 with the keeper. HT 0-3.
Within five minutes of the restart A’alayah strikes a half volley into the top corner. Gwynneth also bagged her first goal by sweeping in at the back post. The final goal was scored from a penalty taken by Holly who shot low with power past the keeper. POTM Scarlett.
Aycliffe U10 Eagles v TSC
A windy day at the OakLeaf for the penultimate match of the season. The early exchanges going Aycliffe’s way with a trademark quick fire double from Faris, quickly followed by Sam adding to the Eagles. TSC pulled one back with a super individual goal before Tarek popped up to restore the 3-goal advantage. Lucas adding another goal late on – with one game to go the Eagles roll on. A great game played in the best of spirits by both teams. MOM Dylen.
Bishop Girls 0 v Aycliffe U12 Angels Blue 6
Sophie opened the scoring for the Angels after ten minutes. Then, from a goal kick, Sara ran through and produced a quality finish. A powerful shot was brilliantly saved by Layken who got a deserved clean sheet. However, goals from Evie and Isobel and at HT it’s 0-4. Then a corner from Evie was converted at the back post by Heidi and the scoring was rounded off by Sara who chipped the on rushing keeper. Players: Sophie, Coaches: Ella.
Aycliffe U12 Angels Blue 7 v Hebburn Town Honeys 1
Second game of the weekend as the Blues work their way through the backlog of fixtures. The girls were on the front foot from the start. Goals from Evie 2, Sara 2, Charli 2 and Sophie gave the girls an emphatic win. Players: Charli, Coaches: Daisy.

Newton Aycliffe Women 2 v South Moor Ladies 1
Final home game of the season and another three points. Despite going down 1-0, Aycliffe immediately responded from a through ball from Jordan to Bethany who calmly beat the keeper. Minutes later, same again, through ball from Jordan and Bethany with the finish. HT 2-1. The second half was very even from two well matched sides with both sides having chances but the defences stood firm. POTM: Symone.
Durham 6 – Aycliffe U23’s 2
Another cup match for the men but they travelled with a depleted squad, so it was always going to be difficult against a very good side. However, this Sunday they travel to Washington Hub for the first ever cup final for Newton Aycliffe at this level, KO 1.00pm.
