A whole weekend of dance is planned for this year’s Great Aycliffe Show, which takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend, 23rd and 24th August 2014.
A new venue will house the dancing this year – the sports Hall of the Oak Leaf Sports Complex, in the grounds of the Showfield.
We would like to invite young dancers, from 6 years to adult, to take place in a Dance Exhibition Competition on Sunday 24th August. There are categories to suit all talents, including Musical Theatre, Street, Modern, Acrobatics, Song and Dance and Freestyle and there will be plenty of space for enthusiastic support from friends and family. You may enter as a solo performer, duet, trio or group. Entry to the competition is free, on receipt of a completed entry form, which may be downloaded from www.great-aycliffe.gov.uk or obtained from Great Aycliffe Town Council on 01325 300700.
There will also be dance school exhibitions, involving local students, in the same venue on Saturday 23rd August but these will not form part of the Aycliffe Dance Exhibition Competition. Applications to take place in these exhibitions are also available from the Town Council.
