Last week Greenfield Arts led another successful Arts Passport trip to Enchanted Parks at Saltwell Park in Gateshead, with students from Greenfield Community College and Sunnydale Community College.

The students and teachers from the Art department alongside the Director of Arts and Creativity from Greenfield Arts visited this great experience for the third year in row. The young people thoroughly enjoyed the chance to see this great outdoor arts exhibition, with light sound and movement set in Saltwell Park.

Despite the cold and the threat of snow the group left Shildon after picking up at both campuses and spent the evening exploring the show which this year had the theme “The Stargazer of Saltwell” – looking back into the park’s history.

One student shared how much they enjoyed the experience: “Better than the illuminations I have seen before because Enchanted Parks has a story behind it and all the art work helps to get those ideas across.”

This is just one of many Arts Passport trips organised by Greenfield Arts, designed to give students at Greenfield the opportunity to experience Arts and Culture outside of the curriculum and lesson time.

The trips are always well attended and we were pleased this time to invite fellow students from Sunnydale as they prepare to become part of Greenfield in the new year.
