A HIGHLIGHT of the social calendar is set to return in October to raise much-needed funds for a local hospice.
The annual Ball in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice, now in its 25th year, will return on 29th October 2022 at Hardwick Hall Hotel.
‘Enchanted’ the Ball promises to be another magical night in celebration of the Darlington based charity.
Compère Steve Walls will play host for the evening, with guests enjoying a red carpet arrival, followed by a three-course meal, charity auction and raffle, along with live entertainment.
Organised by a volunteer team, the event has raised over a quarter of a million pounds for the cause since the very first Ball in 1997.
The pandemic forced the Hospice to cancel the Ball in 2020. A successful special event took place last year, but this October will see the staging of the first full scale Ball since 2019.
‘Enchanted’ Team Hon. Chair Jane Bradshaw says: “We’re really looking forward to holding our Charity Ball again after two years of disruption. Tickets have been selling well, and we are keen to welcome new people in addition to regular supporters, to come and join our magical evening. We are delighted to announce that our special star guest cabaret this year is Middlesbrough’s own, internationally renowned illusionist Pete Firman, as seen on ITV1’s Tonight at the London Palladium and The Next Great Magician, BBC One’s The Generation Game, The Magicians, The John Bishop Show and The Sarah Millican Television Programme.”
Sponsored by MODUS Subsea and by Charles Clinkard, the event is set to raise thousands of pounds toward the running costs of the Hospice as it strives to fund care for people with terminal illness and their loved ones.
