Popular local residents association ACORN will be reconvening after taking a summer break during which they have been as busy as ever.
From excursions to South Shields for the whole community, to an animal fun day on the green featuring miniature horses and ponies and the ever popular Farmyard Flyer bus. Residents and their families have enjoyed the summer sun by holding a Teddy Bears Picnic and a show by cheerleaders group Nemesis.
ACORN will be meeting at the Royal British Legion on 11th September at 5.30pm commencing with a meeting of little ACORNS the junior section of the group who will be planning trips and events for the commencing season.
At 6pm the main ACORN group will be discussing local issues with representatives of local and county councils. Light refreshments are provided.
Come along, meet your neighbours and find out what’s going on within our community, have your say regarding the planning of forthcoming events while enjoying a friendly atmosphere. Welfare Champions will also be available to signpost and give advice.
Places are still available for our forthcoming Beamish Museum Trip on Saturday 20th September @ £8 adult or £3 for under 3 years old.
