Aycliffe Radio, working with ROF59 Activity Centre, are organising a series of “Drive In” events at the ROF59 Rear Field with all profits from these events being donated to local charities.

The first event is to take place on Friday 3rd July from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. Tickets for this event have SOLD OUT, but more opportunities will be available for other Drive In music events during the following Saturdays in July and August (watch Newton News for more information).

All cars will be socially distanced parked, allowing the occupants to get out and have a ‘boogie’ if they so wish. Refreshments will be available via a text ordering system, which ROF59 will prepare on the premises and deliver to your car.

The toilets will be available in ROF59 (one person at a time in the toilet block), a first aid station, marshals and volunteers will be on hand to help and advise any visitor to any of the events.

The next confirmed date is Saturday 18th July, when Gaz ‘n’ Alby from Aycliffe Radio, will present an “Punk Rock Drive In” with live bands including The Clashed, Boilermaker, MC16 and Zero Tolerance with Gaz ‘n’ Alby as your MC for the evening. This event will take place from 5.00pm until 10.00pm. Tickets will be available via www.skiddle.com and will cost £5.00 per person (all who attend the Punk event must have their own seat in a car – no vans, mini buses or trucks permitted.)
