The February half term holidays were a buzz of activity with sessions led by Greenfield Arts at Newton Aycliffe at our community arts centre and Foundations Building, Shildon, encouraging play and imagination. The Aycliffe session, led by mixed media artist Sharron Bates, was full to the brim with families coming together to get creative and spend quality time together, with over twenty budding artists taking part. The young people had a wonderful time working with materials to make their own piece of collage, “I really enjoyed making the street of houses with different pieces of card and magazines” said one participant. The session at Shildon was also full to capacity and everyone got creative in a lovely session using their imagination to design and make original sock love-bugs. The results were brilliant, with each one a little different. The young people really enjoyed the session, learning new skills and enjoying the free playful activity. Both parents and children gave brilliant feedback, “I really value these sessions as a way of spending quality time as a family and learning new creative skills” said one parent – “I liked using my own ideas“, “you could do anything you wanted and just be creative!” said the young people. Our Easter Holiday activities will soon be available to book, please see our website www.greenfield-arts.co.uk email info@greenfield-arts.co.uk or call our friendly team on 01325 379048 to find out more about creativity at Greenfield Arts.
