Following the success of our ‘Refreshment Fridays’ during August, Heighington Village Hall Association repeated the formula during the October Half Term.
On Friday 30th we opened the hall from 11am to 3.00pm and served homemade soup, corned beef and apple pies, quiches and a variety of cakes. We also offered a choice of sandwiches made to order. All washed down with tea or coffee.
We were delighted to welcome people, not just from the village, but from Darlington, Redworth, Shildon and Newton Aycliffe and the Association would like to thank them all for  helping to make our October ‘Refreshment Friday’ such an enjoyable and successful occasion. We will definitely repeat the formula in 2016.
In the meantime, on Saturday, 14th November, we can offer a great night out when renowned singer-songwriter, Gareth Davies-Jones, will bring The Seam to Heighington Village Hall.
The Seam provides an inspiring and entertaining evening of live acoustic music which Bob Harris of BBC Radio 2 says is, “very beautiful music . . . I can thoroughly recommend.”
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12.50, which includes a Pie and Pea Supper.  There will also be a Bar. Tickets are available from 01325 307040.
