oosc

On Tuesday 5th August the children of Woodham Burn out of School Club went to Toby Carvery in Darlington. We were a little bit late because we were stuck in traffic but Craig and Oscar were ready and waiting for us. Craig and Oscar are the teachers of Toby’s Chef School, they were very nice and they played games and quizzes with us including food tasting, pictionary and guess the vegetable/fruit. The Toby’s Chef School made us think about lots of different fruits and vegetables, helping us to stay fit, active and healthy all through the year. In the food tasting games we tried lots of different vegetables including peas, carrots, cauliflower and sweet corn. Oscar woke up on the wrong side of the bed and gave Sandra and one of the children a taste of a lemon, it tasted tangy.
We went over to the food deck to meet Jason, one of Toby Carvery Chefs; he taught Maureen how to carve turkey and Craig showed us all the food we could choose from and we helped him to put the labels on the meat.
Then it was DINNER TIME, we enjoyed our dinner as Craig and Oscar were making us feel very hungry talking about food, nearly all of the children tried everything, it was delicious.
Last but not least we had ice cream as a special treat from the oosc teachers because everyone ate all their dinner. Thank you very much Toby Carvery Chef School for a fantastic visit, we had an excellent time and learnt lots of new information.
