The Newton Aycliffe YMCA shop is calling for people to volunteer their time to help transform the lives of local, young people.
Anyone interested in getting involved in volunteering or who just wants to see what it’s all about, can visit the Newton Aycliffe shop in the Thames Centre.
There are a wide variety of opportunities on offer to suit everyone. From students looking for work experience to people who have recently retired or want to do something different and rewarding, it is a chance to gain new skills, make new friends and give something back to your local community.
Wendy Teague, Shop Manager, said: “Whatever the reason, however much time you have, we have something for you. YMCA shops help young people build a future and by volunteering you, too, can be a part of transforming the lives of young people and your community.
The shop is one of the few charity shops in town that sells pre loved furniture; we offer a free weekly collection service. If you have items you would like to donate, pop into the shop or ring us on 01325 321580. We are taking donations of clothing, bric a brac, books, and electrical items. Ask us about the Gift Aid scheme and help us raise more funds on your donation.
Thank you to all our customers and donors, many of whom are regular visitors, your continued support is very much appreciated.
Funds raised by YMCA retail shops go towards helping important areas of YMCA work including giving young people a safe place to stay, creating healthy and active communities, supporting pupils in education or providing training and skills for life.
