The final in a series of 5k trail races is taking place in County Durham later this month.

The event, being organised by Durham County Council’s sport and leisure service, will take place at Hamsterley Forest, on Wednesday, August 29th.

It costs £3 to enter and there is also a £3 parking charge, payable at registration.

Runners are invited to turn up and register on the night from 6pm, with the race starting at 6.45pm.

Entrants must be aged 16 or over and those under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign their registration form.

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the race, as well as for the overall series, which included previous races at Chester-le-Street and Hardwick Park.

The trail race at Hamsterley Forest starts from The Grove car park, signposted off the A68, north of West Auckland (OS grid reference NZ 09 13 12).

The series has been organised by Durham County Council with support from A1 Multisport and Run England.
