On Tuesday 16th December residents can enjoy a FREE Christmas Concert in the Leisure Centre provided by our schoolchildren from 2pm to 3.30pm.
It will be a super afternoon’s entertainment with singing, dancing and a Brass Band to lead the singing of Christmas Carol and Songs.
Everyone is invited to this annual event organised by the Rotary Club which is always a splendid occasion with lots of seasonal joy.
Schools taking part include Sugar Hill, Woodham Academy, Vane Road, Greenfield, St. Joseph’s, Byerley Park, Aycliffe Village and Stephenson Way. Sunnydale School are also sending a group of singers.
Some of the community carols will be accompanied by talented brass band musicians from Woodham and Greenfield. Former Head Teacher at Heighington School, George Dixon, will play the organ for favourite Christmas items such as “Once in Royal David’s City” O Little Town of Bethlehem, White Christmas and “Jingle Bells”
15 year old soloist Alice Jordan will add sparkle to the programme with her wonderful vocal talent.
Town Mayor Wendy Hillary and Councillors will attend along with a visit from Santa Claus. Please come along and support the children who will be singing their hearts out to help you get in the festive spirit.
