Over the last few months we have enjoyed a wide variety of speakers and outings. Our December meeting was the Christmas party, which was a lot of fun and enjoyed by all. In January we enjoyed a fish and chip supper at our A.G.M where Helen Webster was re-elected as our President.

At the February meeting Anna Shepherd gave us a presentation about a trek she did in the Andes Mountains to raise money for the “Coppafeel” charity which supports breast cancer research. It was a really interesting talk and it was great to see the team spirit that grew throughout the challenge. In March we enjoyed a pie and peas supper along with a silent auction. A good way to raise some funds and donate those unwanted gifts.

We have also enjoyed outings including a Christmas lunch at the Burtree Inn, and a trip to see The History Wardrobe at the Custom House in South Shields, with a meal beforehand. There often seems to be food involved in our outings.

On the 10th April we have someone coming to talk about the MRI scanner appeal and 13th May will be a talk entitled “Behind the scenes – Norman Cornish” delivered by Mike Thornton. There is always social time at the meetings when we chat with friends over a cuppa.

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in St Clare’s church hall. Come along and make some new friends. We are very welcoming.
