Dear Sir,

Before we could blink Halloween and Bonfire Night have come and gone and we are already on the run up to Christmas. For some this can be a lonely time of year for others it can be so busy it can become very overwhelming. In my experience those people who look forward to Christmas usually just want to see their children and family healthy, happy and together. Christmas began with a little family together, in difficult circumstances, in a stable. The angels sang of the Peace that Jesus brought. There was much joy, love and hope surrounding this birth. The peace, joy, love and hope from the birth and life of Jesus Christ can still be felt in our own lives today as we remember the real reason for the Christmas Season. With this in mind I would like to let your readers know about a free event happening in their community at the end of November.

On Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, on Shafto Way, Newton Aycliffe is hosting A Community Festival of Nativities. The event is open to the public from 2pm to 8pm on the Friday and from 10am to 4pm on the Saturday.

In the main hall there will be an exhibition of Nativity ornaments and Nativity Scenes and a display of the symbols of Christmas.

There will also be a Nativity themed photo booth, a display of Homemade Christmas crafts, craft activities for children, nativity family fun room, a taste of Bethlehem and much more.

This is an opportunity to be inspired, reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and have fun.

Kind regards

Jill Turner
