Mrs. Susan Wood (right) retires at the end of the term after thirty three years of service to Aycliffe Village Primary School. Sue Beadle Chairman of Governors presented her with flowers and a gift to mark her service at the school.

Mrs. Wood joined the school back in 1980 until her children were born in the mid-1980s. She then taught as a supply teacher helping the school out occasionally until returning as a full time teacher in 1993. Her contribution to the school has been enormous. She has taught in all phases of the school before returning to the Key Stage 2 class that she started in originally.

Her first task in retirement will be to book flights to Australia in order to visit her son and daughter in law.

We send a fond farewell to Mrs. Wood who will be missed by staff, pupils and parents.

Best wishes from everyone at the school.
