Readers may remember that, at New Year, there were a number of complaints, including letters in the Newton News, about overflowing dog bins in the Woodham area. When investigated, however, it transpired that the specific problems were due to misuse.
Nevertheless, County Councillors John Clare, Mike Dixon and Joan Gray – with the especial help of local Town Councillor Neil Collinson – spoke with local people and arranged to buy two additional dog bins for the Woodham area from their councillors’ Members Initiative Fund.
These have now been provided, and bring the total number of dog bins in the northern half of the ward to forty three. You can see where they are all sited (the yellow dots) on the attached map. The purple dots are litter bins, into which people can also place dog bags in extremis.
