On Tuesday 5th April, Year 6 children at Sugar Hill Primary School showcased their work and delivered a careers fair for parents. Throughout the Spring Term, the children have been attempting to answer the question: ‘How are job opportunities and stereotypes challenged in our local area?’ In doing so, they have been trying to gain an understanding of the roles available in their community and challenge the perception of there being certain gender roles within professions and businesses.
Delivering the careers fair allowed the children to share their knowledge of jobs within the area and to speak confidently in front of their parents. All children participated very well and can be very proud of their efforts. Parents who attended the showcase were justifiably proud of their children.
We can’t wait to see Year 6’s final showcase in the Summer Term before they all move on to pastures new. Well done Year 6!
