Special Delivery is the biography and wartime memoirs of Warrant Officer John Morrison, a Scottish airman in WW2. A Wireless Operator / Air Gunner flying Whitley and Halifax bombers, he was close to finishing his tour of operations when his aircraft was shot down attacking the notorious Tirpitz as she hid in a remote Norwegian fjord.
John survived the loss of his aircraft and was only two miles from the safety of neutral Sweden when he was captured by the German occupiers. The next three years (and 15 hours) saw John as a PoW.
This is the incredible story of a young airman, who saw himself as no-one special, compared to his thousands of comrades in Bomber Command. This story relates the tale of so many RAF aircrew who were shot down, captured, and eventually (if they were fortunate) made it back to Britain.
