Spectrum Roller Skating Club proudly hosted their very first competition at both Sunnydale Leisure Centre, Shildon on Fri 21st July and Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd July 2023.
Ten clubs travelled from all over the country to attend the event with competitors taking part in a range of disciplines including figures, free, dance, freedance, couples, duo, quartet, adult & child and club show events.
Spectrum Roller Skating Club, who train at Sunnydale Leisure Centre in Shildon, had 27 athletes taking part in the skating competition. All skaters were amazing and the club got medals for their themed club show! Thank you to our coaches Tracy, Nicola, Jo and Hannah. Thank you to our team of super volunteers who have planned and organised the event. Thanks to the officials who travelled lots of miles to judge the event and thank you to everyone who supported the event, donated prizes or sponsored trophies.
It was a dream come true for coach Tracy Stevens who has been involved with the sport from the age of 4, “this has been a momentous occasion to go from setting up a few beginner lessons in 2014 to hosting our competition. It’s something I’m very proud of but couldn’t do alone. Thank you to Nicola & Liam, the whole Spectrum team and extended skating family for all of your support, dedication and belief. Roll on next year!”
