The Skate Park competition at the Town Centre Park and in the Youth Centre was funded through Great Aycliffe And Middridge Partnership and was the first of three planned events.
The Urban and Community games was on Thursday 26th July but sadly the skate competition was cancelled due to the weather and re-scheduled for the following day.
22 young people entering on scooters and BMX and another 25 young people supporting and watching the event along with some family and friends. The event was organised by youth workers Laura Langdale and Franceene Birbeck from the Youth Centre
Winners were: BMX 1st – Connor Jones, 2nd – Stuart Lowe, 3rd – Curtis Wilby

Scooter Advanced
1st – Jack Strain, 2nd – Bradley Claughton
3rd – Drea Latue
The next event will be organised and planned by young people with the support of the youth workers, there will be a steering group meeting held at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre on Wednesday 19th September 2012 at 5pm. So please look out for the next competition date.
