Members of Aycliffe Running club travelled to Middlesbrough on Sunday 3rd September for the popular Tees Pride 10K road race. There was full road closure for the event and lots of spectators lined the route to support and encourage the runners.  Local bands also performed at various points along the route. The weather was bright, but very breezy at times.  First to finish for Aycliffe was Dave Blewitt in 46:29 followed by Trish Kay in 49:17, Warren Raine 54:47, Austin Donoghue 52:50 and Susan Clark 1:02:09.  Lindsey Brown achieved a PB of 1:03:45 and had also got a PB at Hardwick Park run the previous day.

Eve Doe completed the race in 1:10:16. Aycliffe Running Club has been holding beginner sessions on a Monday evening and some of the people who have been attending these sessions also completed the Tees Pride 10K. For Joey Collins, who only started running properly about 3 months ago, it was his first ever 10K  race and he completed the course in 59:12.  It was Paula Lambert’s first race and she finished in 1:05:02.
