It has been a busy week for Members with three very different races taking place this week. On 5 February, one Member took part in the Muddy Boots 10k at Ripon with Rob Young completing the course in a time of 44:51.
At the same time, five Members took part in the Dewsbury 10k. This included some fantastic running from John Surtees who achieved a new personal best for the distance by finishing in a time of 33:27. This was also a new club record for the Male 35-40 category. Tracey Surtees also achieved a new personal best for the distance finishing in a time of 38:06 Like John, this was also new club record for the Female 35-40 category. Richard Campbell also set a new personal best for a 10k in the race, finishing in an excellent time of 36:26. Kevin Tatham (47:36) and Kirsty Cameron (58:40) also took part in the race.

On Saturday 4 February, 18 Members started their weekend with a parkrun taking in the Sedgefield, Stewart Park, Darlington South Park, Hackworth and Hartlepool events. At Hartlepool Sarah Gill completed the course for the first time finishing in a time of 24:47.
On 31 January 2023, a total of 28 members started their weekend with a parkrun. That included an Aycliffe Running Club takeover at Hamsterley Forest, where 20 members took part. That included Richard Campbell who finished first in a time of 21:11, Matt Muir (21:44) who was second, Tracey Surtees (21:57) who was third and also first female and Floyd Jones (22:00) who was fourth. It was amazing to see so many Members turn out for the event with the intention of this becoming a regular occurrence during the year and carrying out some parkrun tourism across the region.
