When old Bill bought his brand new trike, he never thought that he,
Would hit the headlines in the press and on the BBC.
At first he found it difficult to manage his new toy,
To peddle three wheels ‘stead of two gave him no special joy.
But he kept on, and after weeks of peddling round the town,
He had a small smile on his face and not the usual frown.
He found that with his brand new skill he could quite easily do,
A daily ride of twenty miles and sometimes twenty two.
One day in bed he had a thought that with a little care,
The NHS could make some cash with the time he had to spare.
So he set himself a target – to ride a thousand miles,
In just ten weeks of five day rides.
The days went by, some wet, some hot until old Bill eventually got,
To reach his target bang on time and write about it, all in rhyme.
