Those living in County Durham are being reminded to make sure they don’t miss out on being able to vote in the forthcoming European Parliamentary elections.
Today is the last day to ensure you are on the electoral register, otherwise you can’t vote in the elections which are set to take place on Thursday, May 22.
To check if you are on the electoral register you can telephone 03000 261 212 or email electoralservices@durham.gov.uk.
The deadline is also fast approaching to apply for a postal vote, with applications needing to be in by tomorrow (Wednesday, 7) May 2014. Anyone wishing to apply for a proxy vote needs to do so by Wednesday, 14 May 2014.
Polling stations will be open across County Durham on Thursday, 22 May 2014 from 7.00am to 10.00pm.
766 MEP’s make up the European Parliament. These are elected by 28 European Union countries. There are 73 MEP’s for the UK broken down into 12 regions and this is your chance to vote for the ones to represent the North East region.
