The Under 10 Falcons junior footballers travelled to 2nd in the table Mount Pleasant looking to build on last week‘s victory over league leaders Leven.
The boys started slowly but got to grips with the game midway through the first half. We created some good chances through good team play, but unfortunately we didn’t convert any.
On the stroke of HT we took the lead when Alfie fired in a free kick, which was well saved by the keeper but there was Tom Jasper to knock the ball home.
The second half was scrappy but the lads dug deep and defended superbly. Zack in goal had safe hands to gobble up all that was thrown at him. Alfie and Joseph were superb in defence, but the whole team had to put a shift in as Mount Pleasant pushed us back.
The last 5 minutes was a tense affair but we stood firm and held out for a hard fought 1-0 victory. MoM Alfie Nichol-Brown and Joseph Birchall, gave outstanding defensive work today. That’s us up to second in the league and if results go our way in the up  and coming weeks we can gain promotion.
